ROCKLAND — A two-vehicle crash on Route 90 near Prince’s Furniture in Rockland resulted in a portion of the state highway to be closed for approximately 45 minutes in the late afternoon, June 22. Two people were transported to the hospital, and others were treated at the scene.

The crash occurred just before 4:30 p.m. when a westbound 2013 Chevy sedan, under the operation of Judith Harrington, 43, of Warren, attempted to turn left into the parking lot of Prince’s Furniture and crossed into the path of an oncoming 1999 Chevy Tahoe.

Henry Crowell, 59, of Gainesville, Ga., was operating the Tahoe, with his wife, Tina, in the passenger seat, and his daughter in the back seat.

Henry Crowell was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center with a broken ankle.

Traffic quickly backed up on Route 90 at the busiest time of the day, and drivers were advised to seek alternate routes up Mill Street and at the other end of the highway, near the Warren town line.

Rockland Police responded to the scene, as did Rockport firefighters, Rockland EMS and North East Mobile Health Services.

In addition to passengers in the vehicle, two small dogs were in one of the cars and were OK.

The Tahoe was a total wreck, and the sedan sustained major damage to its front end.
