UPDATED: Camden Hills boys, girls cross country win state sportsmanship awards

CUMBERLAND — In a Facebook post Thursday, Oct. 26, Camden Hills athletic director Steve Alex announced he “received great news from the Maine Principals Association.”
Both the boys and girls Windjammer cross country teams received the Class A Sportsmanship Award in a ceremony following the state championships Saturday, Oct. 28 in Cumberland.
“This is awesome especially since the girls are also well poised to win the State Championship,” Alex said in the Facebook post. “We are all very proud of you all!” On Saturday, the girls team did win the state championship and qualified for the New England championships in the process.
