A Rockport woman has died in SUV-motorcycle crash on Route 17, in Union.

Just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, deputies from the Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 17 in Union at the intersection of Town House Road.

There, a 1968 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Ronald Moon, 64, of Waldoboro, struck the back of a 2016 Audi SUV, driven by Chaturvedi Alok, 57, of New Delhi, India.

The passenger on the back of the motorcycle, Felicity Davidson, 63, of Rockport, was ejected from the motorcycle, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. She was not wearing a helmet, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the report, Chaturvedi Alok pulled out onto Heald Highway from Town House Road and did not see the motorcycle as it crested the hill traveling eastbound. Neither speed nor any impairment is believed to be contributing factors, according to the report. The investigation will continue by Deputy Daniel Landers.

Felicity Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene. Ronald Moon suffered broken bones and was transported to Penobscot Bay Medical Center, in Rockport. The driver and passengers in the Audi were not injured.

This is the sixth fatality on Knox County roads since May 1.
