Tue, 11/20/2012 - 8:30pm

HOPE — Emergency responders from Hope, Union and Camden Access Team are responding to a single-vehicle accident near 213 Main St. (Route 17) in Hope Tuesday night.

The call came in around 8:30 p.m. Hope Fire Department is on scene, with Union Ambulance and Camden Access headed to assist.

There is a report of a single male inside the overturned vehicle. The accident is on Route 17, between Alford Lake Road and Fogler Road.

Earlier in the day, black ice on Route 17 in Union, just west of tonight's accident, was to blame for an accident that caused a truck to overturn. The truck's driver, Randy Heald, 32, of Jefferson was uninjured, but his passenger, Derek Hinkley, 28, also of Jefferson, was transported to a hospital in Bangor by LifeFlight with possible head, neck and back injuries. He was listed in fair condition earlier today.
