The Maine State Police have issued an advisory that Route 1 in Searsport at Trundy Rd. intersection is shutdown as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 2. The road was closed after a windmill component on a trailer bottomed out on the road and became struck. According to a statement issued by Maine State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland shortly before 10:30 a.m., the road will be opened to one way traffic as soon as possible, and both lanes are expected back open by 11:00 a.m. Route 1 motorists may want to find an alternative in Searsport, the statement concluded.
