Camden, Hope, Lincolnville, Rockport to meet with North East Mobile Health Services

Towns to meet with emergency medical service provider for periodic review

Tue, 01/02/2018 - 1:45pm

LINCOLNVILLE — Representatives from Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport who sit on the regional Emergency Medical Services Performance Review Committee will convene for a periodic meeting Wednesday evening, Jan. 3, 5:30 p.m., at the Lincolnville Town Office.

The committee will talk with North East Mobile Health Services about the status of providing emergency care and transport for the citizens of the four towns.

North East Mobile Health Services is based in Scarborough, but has a local branch in Rockport, as well as Biddeford, Brunswick and Sanford. The for-profit emergency care company has been providing EMS response to the four towns since 2013, when the towns voted to switch their EMS service from Camden First Aid to North East.

As a result of the new arrangement, a municipal oversight committee was created, referred to as the Performance Review Committee. Current representatives on that committee include Alex Kuli, of Lincolnville; Sarah Smith and Deborah Crabtree, of Hope; Marc Ratner and John French, of Camden; and Doug Cole and Mark Kelley, of Rockport.

The current agreement with North East and each town expires in June 2018.

The Lincolnville meeting will be broadcast over Lincolnville local television and recorded so that the public is able to go to the town office and review a DVD of the meeting after it occurs.

Topics of conversation for the Jan. 3 meeting will include call volumes, response times and finances.
