CAMDEN – Let the fun begin. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. It all kicked off today at the Camden Snow Bowl for the 2018 U.S Toboggan Nationals. Two person teams registered and practice runs were taken down the chute. The public, as well, could have a turn at the 400-foot-long chute.

The first runs begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10. Click here for the complete schedule.

Holy Edwards, of the Snow Bowl, categorized the day as "total freakin' chaos, as usual."

"Nothing is different on the first day of nationals," she said. "The registration shed is full of people trying to figure out what to do and how to do it quickly. Tom Cox is inspecting toboggans and we have a group of 25 kids going up to do fun runs. We have toboggans so you don't have to bring your own."

Edwards said despite the weather report for some rain on Saturday, they are thinking snow. Mother Nature never rains on her favorite toboggan chute.

"We are running," she said. "We are exactly on schedule like the schedule says for Saturday."

Mike Chow from Nashville, Tennessee, made the trip to have some fun.

John Fagley said he's been coming here since he was 14.

Casey McCloskey hails from Wilmington, Delaware, and said he has been racing and trying to win a trophy for nine years. He also said this is the year he's going to do it.
