The high school tennis season is in full swing despite today's weather putting the damper on most outdoor activities scheduled for the day.

In the meantime here are some recent matches reported to us. Coaches are encouraged to send results to sports@penbaypilot.com.

Monday, April 25
Camden Hills 5, Brewer 0 ... On Monday, April 25, the Camden Hills girls' tennis team played and won their first match of the season against Brewer 5-0.

Both doubles teams won their matches in convincing fashion to get the first two team points of the year. Freshman Naomi Landry won the deciding point at second singles with a 6-1, 6-4 victory. Brewer is now 0-2 and Camden is 1-0.

Here are, the individual results, with Camden Hills players, listed first; Katie Vannorsdall defeated Kellie Michaud 6-0, 6-2; Naomi Landry defeated Kathy Jakudowsk 6-1,6-4; and Sophia Landry defeated Selina Funk 6-7 (7-3), 6-2, 6-4.

In doubles, Vivian Priestly and Kelsie Merrill defeated Julia Cummings and Olivia Milan 6-0,6-1; and Frances Pendleton and Kassie Krul defeated Maddy Oxley and Abby Bennett 6-0,6-2.

Wednesday, April 27
Girls Tennis
Camden Hills 3, Hamden Academy 2 ... At Hamden, This was a most exciting match going down to a third set tiebreaker won by third singles player Naomi Landry of Camden Hills over Hampden's Aubra Linn to clinch the team victory for the Windjammers. The teams split two singles matches and two doubles matches giving each team two points while waiting for the 2 1/2 hour third singles match to come to a conclusion. Jana Spieker at first singles and Kelsie Merrill and Kassie Krul at second doubles won the other two points for Camden Hills.

Here are, the individual results, with Camden Hills players, listed first; Jana Spieker defeated Kelly Martin 6-1, 6-1; Katie Vannorsdall lost to Melissa Reichel 1-6, 4-6; and Naomi Landry defeated Abra Linn 2-6, 6-0, 7-6 (7-4).

In doubles, Vivian Priestly and Sophia Landry lost to Mariah Dennis and Tamar Hathorn 6-1, 3-6, 4-6; and Kelsie Merrill and Kassie Krul defeated Gillian Whynot and Emma Turlo 6-1, 6-2.

Friday, April 29
Camden Hills 5, Edward Little 0 ... At Auburn, on a cool and windy afternoon, all the players performed well against a young Red Eddie team. Camden Hills girls are now 3-0 and Edward Little is now 1-2.

Here are, the individual results, with Camden Hills players, listed first; Jana Spieker defeated Riley McCurdy 6-0, 6-0; Katie Vannorsdall defeated Sarah Knoblach 6-0, 6-0; and Naomi Landry defeated Khadro Adon 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles, Vivian Priestly and Sophia Landry defeated Meagan Farrington and Yarmin Farah 6-2, 6-3; and Kelsie Merrill and Kassie Krul defeated Hannah Thistle and Stephanie Martel 6-2, 6-0.

Next match for the Windjammers was Monday vs Skowhegan at the Camden Hills courts. That match has been postponed to May 10 same 4 p.m. start time.
