Sunday afternoon jaunt to Beth’s Farm Market

As has become a pleasurable and tasty habit, a Sunday afternoon jaunt to Beth's Farm Market in Warren was, again, perfection. After perusing the vast array of vegetables and selecting a perfect, no, "the" perfect cabbage, I encountered a mother and her 5-year-old son from Farmington, who had just completed the "challenge of the corn maze."

It was not what you'd call flannel shirt weather, and after spending "2 hours and 40 minutes," having a blast savaging for objects, (which, if all found, brought the added reward of a genuine Beth's miniature pumpkin), this mom-among--the-mums and son happily sought the respite of shade, rocking chairs, with an ice cold jug of Beth's own cider. Memories are made of this.

According to Beth's website and Facebook page, the hay rides and farm maze run Fridays through Sundays into October. $5 per person, but free for children age 5 and under, with group rates to be arranged with Beth's.
