LINCOLNVILLE — Maine State Police said they arrested a Monroe resident and charged him with allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from his former employer, the Viking Lumber Company in Lincolnville.

State Police, Game Wardens and Maine Drug Enforcement agents searched the home of Ryan Weaver at 98 Back Brooks Road in Monroe today, Oct. 30, according to a news release from the Maine Dept. of Public Safety.

“The search was the result of an employee theft investigation from Viking Lumber, which started earlier in the month,” the release said.

Investigators said they found stolen building materials and new power tools, including routers, drills, laser transit and a lawn mower at the Monroe home.

Several chainsaws from the lumber company had previously been recovered from various pawn shops around Maine.

Weaver, 32, was charged with felony receiving stolen property and possessing hypodermic apparatus, police said.

They also arrested Maranda McCafferty, 31, at the residence and charged her violating conditions of release and possession of schedule W drugs.

The investigation remains under way and additional charges are likely, police said.
