MONTVILLE — Steven G. Marriner, 63, of Montville, passed away unexpectedly July 18, 2014, in Belfast. He was born in Belfast on Dec. 30, 1950, a son of Harry F. Marriner and Kathryn "Avis" (Littlefield) Beach.

Steven was the owner of Marriner's Garage in Montville and also worked for the past six years at State Sand and Gravel. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS, the NRA and the North American Hunting Club. He was also a Mason for 30 years. Steven was an avid black powder shooter and enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors. In his spare time he loved to go hunting and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Steven was predeceased by his father; and "his brother from another mother," David. He is survived by his mother; and his stepfather, Charlie, of Montville; his wife of 15 years, Shirley (Ripley) Marriner of Montville; his children, Teresa Merrifield and her husband, Kevin, of Belmont, Jennifer Grass and her husband, Tony, of Belmont, Travis Ripley and his wife, Amber, of Harrison, Steven Marriner II and his companion, Tina Sanders, of Thomaston and Marcy Marriner of Knox; his siblings, Pam Christiansen and her husband, Howdy, of Freedom, Vickie Harriman and her husband, Henry, of Florida, Julie Roberts and her husband, Harvey, of Palermo, Karen Marriner of Montville, Cindy Harriman and her husband, Richard, of Liberty, Joy Gee and her husband, Doug, of Washington; his sister-in-law, Brenda Fisher of Camden; 12 grandchildren, Kimberly, Ryan "Big Guy," Kelsey, Ethan, Alexis, Tyus, Lucian, Cyrus, Isaiah, Trevin, Sam and Steven III; the mother of his children, Alice Marriner of Belfast; and many special nieces and nephews. Steven also will be greatly missed by his extended family at State Sand and Gravel.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation Sunday, July 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast, where a memorial service will be held Monday, July 28 at 3 p.m.
