Stephanie Roberts Serrano, obituary

Mon, 02/26/2018 - 12:15pm

Stephanie Roberts Serrano, 59, of Olympia, Washington, died February 9, 2018 of metastatic melanoma.  She is survived by her husband, Taraka Serrano, parents Lloyd and Marjorie Roberts, of Rockport, Maine, and siblings Abigail Fuller, of Deary, Idaho, Sumner Roberts, of, Swanville, Maine, and Rebecca Vose, of Liberty, Maine.  There are no children.

Stephanie, a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard, was a lifelong independent commercial writer and artist with interests in Feng Shui creating several text books and online courses.  More recently she devoted herself to creation of art quilts and related graphic arts involving herself with the Modern Quilt Guild.  She moved from Brooklyn, New York, to Maui and then Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii, going to Olympia recently to be closer to the creative arts scene on the mainland.

The last goal during her protracted treatment of the incurable tumor was to attend the wedding of her only nephew, Nicolas Fuller, of Deary, Idaho, during a brief remission.  This was a significant solace in her terminal illness.  We mourn the death of a wonderful wife, daughter, and sister.

No services are scheduled.  Gifts in memoriam may be made to the South Sound Modern Quilt Guild, 3003 41st Way SE, Olympia, WA 98501, or Providence Sound Homecare and Hospice, 3432 South Bay Rd. NE, Olympia, WA 98506.
