Stanwood Kendal Bryant Sr., obituary

CAMDEN — Stanwood Kendal Bryant Sr., 83, passed away July 22, 2014, at his home in Camden. Born in Camden on April 13, 1931, he was the son of Gerald C. and Ruth F. (Farrington) Bryant, and was a 1950 graduate of Camden High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Spokane, Wash.

Stanwood was self- employed and owned and operated Bryant Plumbing, Heating and Appliances.

As a child Stanwood spent many summers on Lime Island with his family. He always had a boat and enjoyed picnicking on and exploring islands on Penobscot Bay, especially on his boat The Miss behaving. His family and friends have many fond memories of the times spent with him at his camp at Cargill Pond in Liberty.

Stanwood was a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion.

Surviving are his two children, Stanwood K. Bryant Jr. and his wife, Laurie, of Camden and Rhonda Bryant of Camden; three grandchildren, Christopher Bryant, Peter Bryant and Weston Bryant, all of Camden; a sister-in-law, Tina Bryant of Warren; and several nieces and nephews; and his close friend, Priscilla Lundevall.

He was predeceased by a brother, David Bryant; and a sister, Glee Bryant Parker.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 31 at 4 p.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery in Camden. If desired, memorial gifts may be made in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163-4777.
