Man allegedly blew powder into woman’s face before possible assault

Sketch released of Lincolnville sexual assault suspect

    Lincolnville — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office has released a sketch of a man suspected in a possible sexual assault. 

    Deputy Cassandra McDonald received the report Oct. 1 from a female business owner. The woman stated that several days before she had been alone at the business when a man approached the counter. 

    The man then blew a powder into the victim’s face, which she claimed made her lose consciousness. It is while unconscious that the shop owner believes the man may have sexually assaulted her, according to a news release.

    Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office and Maine State Police have been investigating the incident, assisted by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. 

    The man was initially described as being “older,” and between 6’0” to 6’2” in height and weigh over 200 pounds. He reportedly has brown wavy hair. 

    Investigators have since been able to obtain a composite sketch of the man being sought.

    Detectives are continuing the investigation into every aspect of the case and are encouraging anyone with information regarding the possible identity of the man to come forward.
