Seven area softball players to represent Midcoast in all-star games

The Oceanside, Medomak Valley and Vinalhaven softball teams will be sending players to participate in a trio of softball contests to be held throughout the remainder of this month. 

The games will hosted by the Maine High School Softball Association. The organization is hosting five all-star games in Maine — the Class A/B and Class C/D senior all-star games featuring players from the graduating class of 2017, the junior all-star game featuring players from the 2018 class, and the freshman and sophomore all-star game featuring players from the 2019 and 2020 classes. The organization will also be hosting the annual Maine versus New Hampshire contest in Waterville where seniors from both states will meet on the diamond Tuesday, June 27 at Colby College.  

The senior all-star games will be held Thursday, June 22 at Cony High School in Augusta while the other two all-star games will be held Wednesday, June 21 at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. 

Participating in the senior all-star games from the Midcoast will be Alexis Mazurek of Oceanside who will play for the Class A/B North squad while Hannah Ames of Vinalhaven will play for the Class C/D South squad. 

Participating in the freshman and sophomore all-star game from the Midcoast will be Oceanside players Rachel Joyce, Abby Veilleux, Hannah Moholland and Chloe Jones. 

Gabby DePatsy of Medomak Valley will be the lone participant from the Midcoast in the junior all-star game.
