Rockport library holds spring sale April 19-20

ROCKPORT — “Spring isn’t just for growing flowers,” said Rockport Public Library, in a news release. “You can also grow your collection of books by shopping at the Friends of the Rockport Library’s Spring Book Sale.”

The sale will be Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., located in the lower level of the Rockport Public Library.

“Shoppers can feel good knowing that proceeds from the event will help support the Rockport Public Library,” said RPL.

Volunteers will be regularly restocking the tables with thousands of gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks appealing to all ages and tastes. Examples of seasonal favorites include books on gardening, home projects, travel, and fiction (“it’s never too soon to stockpile ‘beach reads’ said RPL). Other popular topics include nature, biography, cookbooks, and art.

Most items are priced between $1 and $5, with an additional 10% off for members of the Friends of the Rockport Library. To join the Friends, stop into the library to learn more. Annual fees are $15 for individuals, $20 for families, and $50 for patrons.

“Volunteers play several integral roles at the library book sales,” said the release.

If you are interested in helping with set-up, break-down, cashiering, or restocking of books at the event, please stop by or contact the library at 207-236-3642 to sign up for a shift.
