A Rockland man is facing several charges following the crash of a reportedly stolen motor vehicle, according to the Rockland Police Department.

Nicholas Gray, 21, of Rockland, has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and failing to report a crash by quickest means.

The charges stem from a Feb. 1 report. At around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Park and Oliver streets on the report of a single vehicle crash. The vehicle has crashed in to a utility pole, causing extensive front end damage and air bag deployment.

Officers learned that the vehicle has been reported stolen from a nearby apartment complex.

Gray was not located that evening; Officer Jacob Shirey applied for an arrest warrant for Gray. The arrest warrant was approved Feb. 3; Gray was arrested that evening by Officer Andrew Redden, and has since been released on bail.
