Rockland library explores history and spirit of curling with Maine author David Florig

    ROCKLAND — The Rockland Public Library presents David Florig, Thursday, January 11, at 2 p.m. This event is free and open to all.

    Maine author and curler David Florig will read from and discuss his debut novel, The Stones of Ailsa Craig. Set in present-day Belfast and 1880s Scotland, the book explores the ancient Scottish sport of curling and will appeal to fans of historical fiction and mysteries, according to a news release.

    Florig grew up in South Jersey before retiring to Maine. He is the past-president of the Pine Tree Curling Club in Portland, as well as a member of the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance.
