Rockland hosts Earth Day Harborside Cleanup, April 20

ROCKLAND — On Saturday, April 20, in recognition of Earth Day, the City of Rockland will host a Harborside Cleanup. The Cleanup will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning at Harbor Park in Rockland. Cleanup volunteers will be provided with all the tools needed to help collect litter at various locations around Rockland’s waterfront.

Coffee and breakfast snacks will be served in the morning, and a community cookout for all volunteers will be held at noon.

The Cleanup is made possible by the generous sponsorship and contributions of Maine State Credit Union, First National Bank, Good Tern Co-Op, Wiggins Meat Market, ScrapDogs Community Compost, and Spriggits.

The Cleanup is organized through a collaboration between the City of Rockland and: Rockland Energy and Sustainability Advisory Committee, Rockland Harbor Trail Committee, Maine Department of Marine Resources, Maine Coastal Program, Penobscot Bay Community Health Partnerships, Rockland Main Street, and Friends of Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge.
