Rockland Heart & Soul and the Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) are joining forces to find out what kids love about Rockland.

On Saturday, March 17, from 2 to 4 p.m., children in Kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to the ArtLab at the CMCA, 21 Winter Street in Rockland, to create posters to illustrate what they love about Rockland.

Alexis Iammarino, ArtLab Lead Artist and Educator will work with the children to use their creativity and a variety of materials to make their posters. All the supplies and materials are being provided free of charge by CMCA. The kids' posters will then be displayed in the windows of local businesses for residents to enjoy and to learn what touches the hearts of Rockland's kids.

This project is part of the Rockland Heart & Soul process to discover, in many ways, what the people of Rockland love about their city, and what matters most to them.

The Heart & Soul Team is especially excited about finding out what matters to the children who live, attend school, and play in the Rockland community.

Rockland Heart & Soul is a community engagement and development process whose purpose is to bring together diverse members and voices of the community to identify common values and themes about what matters most to the people of Rockland and the surrounding community.
