ROCKLAND — City Manager James Chaousis will present the City of Rockland’s fiscal year 2016 budget to members of the City Council in a special meeting this afternoon at 5:30 p.m. The fiscal year 2016 begins July 1.

This special meeting will not include discussions or deliberations of the budget, according to City Clerk Stuart Sylvester. “The budget review will begin April 27 and continued each Monday and Wednesday (except for holidays, agenda-setting and regular meetings) until completed (a meeting schedule will be issued on Friday with the dates and times for those reviews)” Sylvester said in an email.

The preliminary budget is tentatively scheduled to be approved  for publication on May 27 with the public hearing and final adoption of the budget tentatively scheduled for June 22 or 24.

The meeting, held in City Council Chambers, 270 Pleasant Street, readies employees of the city, as well as residents, of any changes necessary before the new fiscal year begins July 1, 2015.
