Each day one of these groups will be hosting an information and resource table on topics such as student rights and reporting, the importance of preferred names and pronouns, Spread the Word to End the Word and Special Olympic volunteer opportunities, and an interactive world map display.

On Thursday, February 8, there will be a a school-wide assembly with the the state attorney general's Civil Rights Team Project coordinator, Brandon Baldwin. His presentation is called "The Power of Words," which will focus on name-calling and insults related to race and skin color, national origin and ancestry, religion, disabilities, gender (including gender identity and expression) and sexual orientation.

The mission of the Civil Rights Team is to increase respectful behavior and safety in our schools, while reducing incidents of bias-motivated behaviors and harassment. The team wants all students, staff and visitors to feel safe, welcomed and respected as individuals while in our school and community.
