Special election for District 93 seat in Augusta up for grabs

PenBayPilot, WRFR and Channel 7 host Rockland, Owls Head candidates forum

    ROCKLAND — It’s coming time to elect one candidate from a field of four for the empty Rockland/Owls Head District 93 seat in the Maine Legislature. To help voters get acquainted with the candidates, PenBayPilot.com in conjunction with community radio WRFR in Rockland and Mainecoast.TV (Channel 7) will host a special forum Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7 a.m. on WRFR, 93.3 in Rockland and 99.3 in Camden as part of PenBayPilot’s Chris Wolf Show. The forum will be simulcast on Mainecoast.TV and Channel 7.

    In a special election to be held on March 10 in Rockland and Owls Head, voters will be asked to fill the seat vacated by Elizabeth Dickerson, District 93, in the Maine House of Representatives.

    Cndidates for the seat are Anne Beebe-Center, Democrat, of Rockland; Ron Huber, Green Party candidate of Rockland; James Kalloch, Republican, of Rockland; and Shawn Levasseur, Libertarian, of Rockland.

    Moderated by Chris Wolf, the candidates will have an opportunity to voice opinions and discuss issues specific to representing Rockland and Owls Head at the state capitol.

    Absentee ballots have been made available at both Rockland City Hall and Owls Head town office. Absentee ballots must be picked up by March 5, and can be returned no later than 8:30 p.m. on the March 10, Election Day.
