BELFAST — Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) would like to thank the Midcoast Public Health Council for a $2,125 mini-grant recently received. The Midcoast Public Health Council is a partnership of local organizations in the counties of Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Waldo, and the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell. The organizations combine their efforts and resources with partnership and funding from the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention to help make Midcoast Maine a healthy place to live, work and play.

The mini-grant funded the purchase and installation of a new trailhead sign for the PBMC Community Wellness Trail in Rockport, as well as trail maps and holders. The PBMC Community Wellness Trail is a 1.66 mile pet-friendly trail on the PBMC campus. It features eleven fitness stations and is open to the community. It can be accessed through any of its three trailheads, located by Pen Bay Urology, at the back parking lot by the Pen Bay Café, and just north of the hospital on Route 1. Parking is available at all three locations.
