Organizers are looking for a few good teams to have a great time building a wonderful, safe, durable sailing / rowing dinghy this weekend at the Camden Windjammer Festival.

Interested build teams should reach out via CamdenWindjammerFestival.org to express their interest. Optimal teams would perhaps consist of two adults and 8 to 12 year olds. Teams can be made up of families or friends . . . better than enemies!

This event begins on September 2, 2017 where contestants begin building their sea worthy boats. On Sunday, September 3, 2017, at 11:30  a.m., contestants will put their newly build yachts to the test with a race starting in Camden Harbor.  Rules and registration for this event can be found through the links provided.

Sika Corporation announced its sponsorship of the Sikaflex Challenge at the 2017 Camden Windjammer Festival in Camden.

The event challenges contestants to design, build, and race small boats using limited plywood, lumber and only fast-curing Sikaflex -291 as the adhesive and sealant to keep their marine craft afloat. The event has seen countless fun and one-of-a-kind designs over the years; from tugboats, to battleships, to rubber duckies, and even crocodiles. 

Prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place finishers in the actual sea trials and the winner of the race receives the Sikaflex Challenge Cup.  Trophies are also awarded to boats with the Best Design and Fastest Build.
