ROCKLAND – The Oceanside field hockey team hosted Lincoln Academy to their final home game of the regular season.

From start to finish it was all Oceanside regardless of who coach Joanna Hall put on the field leading to the 6-0 win.

Seniors for Oceanside, who played their last regular season game were Mary Allen, Clara Feltus, Darrian Leonardi, Krisandra McNicol, Molly Tobin, Makayla VanBlarcom, and Michaela Wright.

Mary Allen had a hat trick playing a very impressive game today. Other scorers were, Makayla Van VanBlarcom had a goal and an assist; Michaela Wright had a goal; Krissy McNichol added a goal. Erin Dugan had two assists; and Molly Tobin had one.

Lauren Hoppe was in the cage for Oceanside where she had had three saves on three shots to record the shutout. Zoey Seawall was the goalie for Lincoln Academy and had 11 saves on 17 shots.

Oceanside held the advantage on penalty shots 6-1.

The Mariners are now 5-7-1 on the season and are currently in 10th place in the Maine Principals’ Association Heal Point Standings. Oceanside has one regular season game left Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Levitt of Turner.

The top 10 teams make the playoffs, and Oceanside is guaranteed a spot at this point. What could change is being ninth or tenth. John Bapst is in ninth right now with a game against Central to finish the regular season. Oceanside will have to get help from teams they have beat to get ahead of the Broncos unless they win against Leavitt. That would be more than enough to move them up a spot regardless of what John Bapst does.
