READFIELD — The Oceanside varsity field hockey team traveled to Readfield Saturday, Sept. 9 where they battled Maranacook. 

All it took was one goal in the second half for the Mariners to return home with a 1-0 victory. 

After concluding the opening half scoreless, with Taylor Hamlin assisting Erin Dugan on a hit coming into the circle. 

Maranacook had 13 corners compared to Oceanside’s five. Oceanside had 12 shots compared to Maranacook’s seven. Alexa Barstow had six saves and Mattie Hooper had one save in the net for Oceanside. Carolina Bacheldor had 11 saves for Maranacook.
