Oceanside East high school burglarized, fire extinguishers emptied

    ROCKLAND — Rockland Police are investigating a burglary at Oceanside High School that was reported Dec. 20 at 8 a.m.

    Police discovered that fire extinguishers were emptied of their contents, school and staff property were vandalized and personal belongings of staff were stolen.  

    The campus of Oceanside East is at 400 Broadway, in Rockland.

    At this time the total cost of the damage and stolen items has not been determined.

    Rockland Police Deputy Chief Wally Tower said that he does not know how entry was made into the school but there are suspects. The burglary remains under investigation and police anticipate that charges will be filed sometime soon.
