Oceanside baseball, softball defeat Lincoln Academy

ROCKLAND — The Oceanside baseball and softball teams hosted Lincoln Academy on Friday, May 25. 

Oceanside baseball improved to 13-2 thanks to the victory, while Lincoln Academy dropped to 3-12. 

Oceanside softball improved to 13-2 thanks to the win, while Lincoln Academy dropped to 7-8. 

Baseball: Oceanside 8, Lincoln Academy 5

Oceanside plated three runs in the third, three in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the sixth inning, while collecting seven hits and committing four errors. 

Lincoln Academy plated three runs in the third, one in the fourth and one in the fifth inning, while collecting eight hits and committing one error. 

At the plate for Oceanside were Logan Sheridan (single, double), Michael Dougherty (single), Hunter Davis (single) and Titus Kaewthong (double). 

At the plate for Lincoln Academy were Basil White (single, double) and Tiger Cummings (two singles). 

Working the mound for Oceanside was Dougherty, who pitched 3.2 innings and allowed two unearned runs. 

Softball: Oceanside 10, Lincoln Academy 0

Oceanside plated four runs in the first inning and six in the sixth, while collecting eight hits. 

Lincoln Academy collected three hits and committed three errors. 

In the pitcher’s circle for Lincoln Academy was Courtenay McKenna, who fanned five and walked two in six innings. 

In the pitcher’s circle for Oceanside was Chloe Jones, who fanned 10 and walked three in seven innings. 

At the plate for Lincoln Academy were Ari Gerais (two singles) and Anna Hatch (single). 

At the plate for Oceanside were Jones (two doubles, single, RBI), Rachel Joyce (triple, single, two RBIs, run), Abby Veilleux (single, two runs), Casey Pine (single, RBI, run) and Lily Judecki (two runs). 

“I'm very pleased with these young ladies they are putting everything together at the right time,” said Oceanside head coach Rusty Worcester.
