Walk for a cure on August 12

Nephcure fundraising walk to commence in Belfast

Mon, 08/07/2017 - 1:00pm

BELFAST — Kelli Bucklin of Belfast, is organizing a NephCure Walk to take place on Saturday, August 12 at Steamboat Landing in Belfast, Maine, followed by food, fun, and live music. Her son, Nate, has been living with Nephrotic Syndrome for the past 11 years.

FSGS and Nephrotic Syndrome are complex conditions that impact different people in different ways. This makes it challenging to find resources and answers that patients and their families need, to help navigate their way through every stage of these diseases. NephCure Kidney International provides the information and tools relevant to them no matter where they are on the journey – from diagnosis and treatment to management and remission.

Our NephCure events create awareness, support and the funds needed to support our mission : A cure for FSGS, Nephrotic Syndrome and the diseases that cause Nephrotic Syndrome. Join our
community, get involved and support families like the Bucklin family by participating in the fight to discover the cure. Registration for the walk will begin at 1:00 p.m., and the walk will start at 2:00 p.m. There
is no registration fee but fundraising is encouraged. Any walker who raises a minimum of $100 will receive a NephCure T-Shirt.

All proceeds will benefit NephCure Kidney International. NephCure Kidney International is the only organization committed exclusively to support research seeking the cause of the potentially debilitating kidney disease Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and the diseases that cause Nephrotic Syndrome, improve treatment, and find a cure.
