ROCKPORT — The Midcoast Recreation Center’s Red Ball tennis program is hitting the road this summer with tennis camps coming to a town near you, according to a press release. Three tennis camps for kids ages 6-8 are being offered in Waldoboro, Rockland and Belfast. All of these camps are offered at no cost.

“The mission of our Red Ball program is to serve the community, impact the lives of youth and grow the sport of tennis by taking down the barriers to entry,” MRC tennis director Seth Meyer said in the release. “We are excited to offer these camps at no cost and we are looking forward to introducing tennis to many kids this summer.”

The camps will be offered the following dates, times and locations: June 26-29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Medomak High School in Waldoboro, July 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Oceanside High School in Rockland, and Aug. 14-18 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Waldo County YMCA in Belfast.

Registration for Waldoboro and Rockland can be done by calling MRC at 236-9400. Registration for Belfast can be done by calling the YMCA at 338-4598.
