ROCKPORT — On December 31, Midcoast Recreation Center (MRC) will host a New Year’s Eve Party for the community from 7 p.m. - midnight. Kids, families and adults are invited to spend a fun and active evening at MRC while raising money for a great cause, according to MRC, in a news release.

Entry is by donation, “Pay what you Wish,” and all proceeds will benefit MRC’s annual fund, which supports youth scholarships and tennis, ice, fitness, pickleball and golf education programs. Each entry includes access all evening to: public skate (with glow in the dark starting at 9 p.m.), open pickleball, open ping-pong, a variety of tennis activities, golf and board games.

Throughout the event, participants will be invited to join additional games and contests – an upside-down tennis tournament, ping-pong tournament, play the tennis pros, fastest serve and more.

BBQ dinners will be available for purchase as well as snacks, non-alcoholic mocktails, drinks, and desserts. Dinner is first-come, first-served and will be available until it runs out. At midnight, MRC will provide a sparkling grape juice toast and countdown to ring in 2024.

“We are delighted to once again offer a healthy, fun and safe New Year’s Eve event to our community!” said MRC Community Engagement Director Sarah Glenn. “We hope it will be fun night of sports and recreation for families and adults alike and will help MRC raise money for our 2024 programs.”
