ROCKPORT — The Midcoast Recreation Center is busy preparing for another fun summer on the tennis courts with several programs and camps being offered.

“The summer season is always so much fun,” tennis director Seth Meyer said in a press release announcing the MRC’s summer programs. “We have tennis offerings for all ages and abilities and can’t wait to get started.”

Red Ball tennis camps for ages 4-7 and youth tennis camps for ages 7-12 are offered the weeks of June 25, July 9, July 30, Aug. 6 and Aug. 20 at the MRC.

Teen tennis camps for ages 11-18 are held the weeks of July 2, 16, 23 and Aug. 13. The teen camps are held outside at Camden Hills Regional High School.

MRC is also offering Junior Team Tennis this summer. This will run on Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. July 12 through Aug. 9 outside at Camden Hills. Team tennis offers experienced kids the opportunity to play matches in a fun, team-based environment.

MRC’s Tennis Academy rounds out the summer junior schedule. The Academy will run on Mondays, starting June 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. outside at Camden Hills. This program is for varsity level players and those competing in tournaments.

There is also a variety of tennis programs for adults as well. From the Learn to Play program on Wednesday evenings to the Friday Night Mixer there is something for everyone on the schedule.

All of the above programs are run by MRC’s experienced, certified tennis staff.
