Oceanside head coach Rusty Worcester stated: “Today’s game was an early 11 a.m. game; [a] long road trip but the girls came out and played well. Chloe Jones started out a little slow on the mound when Spruce Mountain put [four] of the first [six] batters on base. Then she found her groove striking out 14 of the next 21 batters she faced. She finished with a season high 15 [strikeouts] and only walked two giving up [one] unearned run in the first inning and allowed 4 hits on the day. This was a very good pitching performance, she was able to throw all her pitches for strikes and the ball was exploding out of her hand. Alexis Mazurek continued her power hitting surge hitting a two run shot to deep centerfield. This is her second one in two days, she also added a single and [three] RBIs. Raechel Joyce had a big day as well she had a double and two singles and [one] RBI on the day. Its nice seeing her back in action after spraining a thumb 19 days ago. Hannah Moholland and Casey Pine had multiple hit games as well. Good all around performance from all the girls today.”
