He was a certified scuba diver who also was privileged to have been able to travel to several places, including Japan, Australia and the Philippines.

Matthew will be greatly missed by so many, but his spirit will always live on through everyone that loved him.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Lisa Tyler of Maine and Jeffrey Tyler of North Carolina; his siblings, Sara of North Carolina, Justin of Maine, Arryn of Tennessee and Cory of Maine; his maternal grandparents, Judy and Russell Patten of Maine; his paternal grandmother, Betty (Tyler) McNamara of New York; his niece, Kori Clipper of North Carolina; his uncles and aunts, Jeff and Judy Patten of Maine, Rusty Patten of Maine, Kevin and Lisa Patten of Maine, Steve and Deborah Hughes of Maine, John Tyler of New York, James and Suk Wilcox of Tennessee, and George and Un-Hui Wilcox of New York; his best friend, Dale Short of Maine; and his good friends, Leonard and Christy Palmer of Maine. He is also survived by several great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and many friends.

Matthew’s celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at Swann Lake State Park in Swansville, for anyone wishing to attend.

Donations may be made at his celebration of life and will be given to the fire department, in which Matthew was a member.
