VINALHAVEN — Marion Gloria Woodcock, 87, died May 13, 2015, at the Ivan Calderwood Homestead on Vinalhaven. Born in Vinalhaven on April 19, 1932, she was the daughter of Gustaf Albert Swanson and Susan (Dyer) Woodcock, and was a 1950 graduate of Vinalhaven High School.

A 1955 graduate of Memorial Hospital at Worcester, Massachusetts, Marion worked as a registered nurse there for 25 years.

Marion returned to Vinalhaven when she retired and opened the Crafty Cat Gift Shop, sold Avon products and drove for Coastal Transport Service on the Island. She loved cats.

She was predeceased by a sister, Elin Young; and two brothers, Donald Woodcock and Edwin Woodcock.

Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be a church funeral on Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at Union Church in Vinalhaven, with the Rev. John Potter and the Rev. Michelle Wiley Area co-officiating. Burial will be held in Brown's Head Cemeter in Vinalhaven.
