The Maine Marine Patrol located a kayaker Sunday almost 15 hours after he was reported missing by members of his kayak party. The group was paddling between Isle au Haut and Stonington.

Tony Cashman, 43, of Quebec, Canada, was found in good shape in Stonington at approximately 10:30 a.m. Sunday after failing to meet other members in his party on Marshall Island, according to the Marine Patrol.

According to Marine Patrol reports, Cashman failed to meet the group on Marshall Island Saturday, instead going to Fog Island and then Saddleback Island where he spent Saturday night.

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday the Marine Patrol joined the U.S. Coast Guard and searched the area until midnight. Marine Patrol Specialist Sean Dow and Officer Brent Chasse were involved in the search Saturday evening.

The Marine Patrol resumed the search between 6 and 7 a.m. Sunday, deploying patrol vessels Guardian III and Dirigo II. Specialist Dow and Officer Chasse along with Specialist Corrie Roberts and Officers Brian Tolman and Matthew Wyman searched several islands near Isle au Haut, locating the other members of the party on Marshall Island at approximately 10 a.m. Shortly thereafter, the Marine Patrol was notified that Cashman was safe at a kayak outfitter in Stonington.
