ROCKPORT — Marguerite F. Morton Regnier, 94, died Sept. 18, 2014, at Knox Center For Long Term Care in Rockland. Born on Nov. 19, 1919, in Rockport, she was the daughter of John and Ernestine Buzzell, and was a 1936 graduate of Rockport High School. She married Ralph W. Morton in Winthrop on June 13, 1936.

For many years, Margueite worked as a seamstress at Van Baalen's in Rockland, where she made shirts for men. Marguerite and Ralph raised their four children at their home in Rockport. Ralph died in 1964.

Marguerite later married Louis Regnier and they enjoyed years of traveling throughout the country in their van, camping, exploring and other adventures on their many trips.

She loved local history, tracing her family tree and being a volunteer at the Conway House. Marguerite also enjoyed going to lunch with family and friends, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are her four children, Kenneth Morton of Rockport, Joanne Welch and her husband, Robert, of Rockport, Sandra Rollins and her husband, Scott, of West Rockport and Fort Pierce, Fla., and Geraldine Wright and her companion, Monty Davis, of Hope; her grandchildren, Teri (Rollins) Hise and her husband, Doug, of Camden; S. Gregory Rollins and his wife, Trina, of West Rockport, Karen (Welch) Young and her husband, Linwood, of Rockport, Kenneth Morton Jr. and his wife, Sharilyn, of Rockport, Michelle (Welch) Ames and her husband, David, of Rockport, Jill Morton of West Rockport, Randy Wright and his wife, Cathy, of Hope, Rick Wright and his wife, Carole, of Owls Head, and Jodi-Lynn (Wright) Saastamoinen and her husband, Ian, of Hope; 11 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeannette Turner of Rockland.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Ralph Morton in 1964 and Louis Regnier in 1980; her brother, Howard Buzzell; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Morton in 2008; and her stepson, Robert Regnier in 2013.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. at the West Rockport Cemetery on Park Street in Rockport, with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating.
