Man dies in Waldoboro motorcycle crash

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro Police, Fire and EMS responded to a single vehicle, motorcycle crash on Oct. 5 at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Route 32 South (Bremen Road), according to a news release from Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde Oct. 6. 

    When officers arrived on the scene, they located a motorcycle with a driver approximately 20 feet off the road in an embankment. 

    Kevin Willey, 54, of Bristol, was identified at the operator of the motorcycle. He later died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.  

    It was later determined at the scene that the operator of the motorcycle was travelling south on Bremen Road and failed to negotiate a corner. It is unknown at this time if speed or alcohol were involved.

    The accident is being reconstructed by Knox County Sheriff’s Department. The actual cause of the accident is currently under investigation and no further information is available at this time, said Labombarde in the news release.
