Maine State Police Troop D beat

    AUGUSTA — Maine State Police Troop D reported the following activity Oct. 27 - Nov. 2. Troop D is responsible for Maine's Midcoast, including Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Waldo, and Knox counties, the southern half of Kennebec County and part of northern Cumberland County. The troop also patrols Interstate 295, from Brunswick to Gardiner. The troop's complement includes a lieutenant, three sergeants, 25 troopers and a secretary. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Oct. 27

    Trooper Corey Smith stopped a vehicle on Main Street in Winterport for an inspection sticker violation. The operator, David Whitmore, 52, of Frankfort, was found to be operating with expired registration and he was issued a summons for the offense.

    Trooper Smith stopped a vehicle on Route 141 in Monroe for speeding. The operator, Amy Adriance, 35, was operating an unregistered vehicle that was also uninsured and she was issued a summons for the offense. The vehicle was towed.

    Trooper Nicolas Gleeson responded to an unattended death in Pittson.

    Trooper Gleeson issued Jason Beckwith, of Pittson, with theft.

    Trooper Desiree Wuthenow took a report of a theft in Monroe. Investigation continues.

    Trooper Wuthenow took a report of a burglary in Winterport. Investigation continues.

    Trooper Wuthnow took a report of an assault in Stockton Springs. Following investigation, Russell Belden, 51, was arrested for domestic violence assault and possession of marijuana.

    Oct. 28

    Trooper Wuthenow took a report of a copper theft in Winterport. Investigation continues.

    Oct. 29

    Trooper Benjamin Sweeney stopped a vehicle on Main Street in Winterport for a vehicle defect and Travis Kohl, 21, of Winterport, was issued a summons for illegal attachment of plates.

    Oct. 30

    Trooper Seth Allen stopped a vehicle in Augusta for a vehicle defect. Following investigation the operator, Kawika Santos, 22, was issued summonses for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Trooper Allen stopped a vehicle in Randolph after recognizing the driver as having a suspended license. John Lefebvre Jr., 25, was ultimately arrested for operating under the influence and operating after suspension.

    Sergeant Patrick Hood investigated a reported employee theft at Viking Lumber Yard in Lincolnville. Following investigation Ryan Weaver, 32, of Monroe, was arrested for felony receiving stolen property.

    Trooper Wuthenow arrested Maranda McCafferty, 31, in Monroe after finding her to be in possession of a schedule W drug without a prescription. McCafferty was also charged with violating conditions of release.

    Trooper Wuthenow received a report of theft of Suboxone in Frankfort. Investigation continues.

    Nov. 2

    Trooper Gleeson responded to a single vehicle accident on Togus Road in Chelsea. The operator, Nathaniel Heyns, 29, of Chelsea, was issued a summons for operating after suspension.
