ROCKPORT - Madeline B. Maloney 98, of Rockport, passed away Aug. 26, 2015, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center following a short illness.

Madeline was born and raised in Thomaston, where she attended local schools.

In November of 1934 Madeline married Frank Maloney. Together they resided in South Thomaston, where they welcomed two daughters, Catherine and Judy. For more than 29 years, Madeline was employed at Knox County General Hospital and later Penobscot Bay Medical Center. She spent her career in Central Supply until retiring in 1981.

Madeline enjoyed attending Masonic dances with her husband, and she was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ivy Chapter, Warren. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her love of traveling.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff, administrators, nurses and certified nurses assistants at Windward Gardens, where she resided for the past six years.

Madeline leaves behind two daughters, Judy Belyea and Cathy Heyer; five grandchildren and their spouses, Terri Belyea, Ron Belyea, Brenda Munroe (Belyea), Kimberly Heyer and Scott Heyer; five great-grandchildren, Alison, Kayla, Kendyl, Lilli and Sheree; as well as four great great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, with a celebration of her life held Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Richard Wellman will officiate.
