Musical and athletic in high school, in middle age she taught herself to play guitar, and she and a group of friends took up cross-country skiing at that time as well. While she was still able, she loved to walk on Mt. Pleasant Road near her home. Lucille was very fond of her latest cat, Whiskers McGregor, who was a good companion.

She was always a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, with a big heart and a sunny smile for all, even in difficult times. She was an active member of the Rockport Methodist Church for many years.
