Lincolnville Selectmen to meet with School Committee; roof repairs, ball field maintenance on agenda

Mon, 01/29/2018 - 11:15am

LINCOLNVILLE — Town selectmen and the Lincolnville School Committee meets this evening at 6 p.m. to address an agenda that includes hearing an update on the school roof repairs and ball field maintenance at Lincolnville Central School.

The joint meeting will be held at the Lincolnville Town Office and it will be televised.

In July, 2017, the selectmen heard about siding and roofing issues at the school.

Exterior siding along the northwest wall of Lincolnville Central School had deteriorated and project repairs, at that point, carried an estimated $144,726 pricetag. The School Committee was asking the town to help pay for the repairs with the remaining school construction bond funds.

The school was built in 2005, and the Capital Campaign fund had approximately $190,000 left in it. Because Lincolnville voters approved the school construction expenditure more than 12 years ago, control of that specific fund lies under municipal purview.

    The full agenda follows:

    1. Joint Meeting/ Workshop with School Committee

Update on School Roof P r o ject

    Ball Field Maintenance

    Budgetary Goals

    Other Items of Concern

    2. Special Town Meeting Warrant for February 12, 2018 Approve an d Sign
