LINCOLNVILLE and LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Lincolnville native Tim Boestch, an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter, has been added to the fight card for the Saturday, Jan. 31 event to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Although the actual site has yet to be announced, ten fighters have been paired up for the fight, according to an Oct. 29 post by Sherdog, the “global authority” for mixed martial arts.

Among the ten fighters are Boestch, who last fought at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor Aug. 16, in which he earned a technical knock-out victory over Brad Tavares.

Boetsch, who is 18-7 in UFC fights, will face Thales Leites (24-4) in the upcoming Vegas fight.

The former Camden-Rockport High School wrestler competes in the middleweights division.

It should be noted that Leites has won his last seven fights, while Boetsch has won two of his last five bouts.

Also on the card is the main event featuring Anderson Silva (33-6) and Nick Diaz (26-9), along with Ildemar Alcantara (20-7) versus Richardson Moreira (7-2), Andy Enz (7-2) versus Thiago Santos (9-3) and Jordan Mein (29-9) versus Thiago Alves (20-9).

Presently, the Boestch-Leites fight is scheduled to be the third bout of the night, as long as no other bouts are added to the schedule.
