Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Domestic violence, speeding, OUI, inspection violations

    The Knox County Sheriff's office received 364 calls for service from July 10-16. Some of the calls not listed include agency assists, animal problems, bail and warrant checks, business and residential alarms, business and residential property checks, check-ins, citizen assists, civil disputes, crisis interventions, death investigations, nuisances complaints, court paper service, marine resource inspections, motor vehicle crashes, police information, school visits, suspicious persons and circumstances, traffic hazards, and traffic stops. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

    July 10

    Sgt. Patrick Polky conducted an impaired driving detail throughout the county and cited Ryan Baker, 27, of New York, N.Y.,, for operating under the influence of alcohol in Owls Head.

    Following a traffic stop in Union, Deputy Paul Pinkham summoned Sara Alley, 20, of Camden, for speeding.

    Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Pinkham arrested Alex Ditullio, 21 of Vassalboro, for operating under the influence of alcohol.

    Following a traffic stop in Saint George, Polky summoned Griffin Lombardo, 18, of Thomaston, for speeding and passing on a hill.

    Deputy Robert Potter responded to a report of threatening on Vinalhaven. The incident is under investigation.

    July 11

    Following a traffic stop in St. George, Deputy John Hansen summoned Mallory Farley, 21, of Rockport, for speeding.

    Following a traffic crash on Vinalhaven, Potter summoned Sigvard Beckman, 25, of Vinalhaven, for failing to produce evidence of insurance.

    Deputy Arthur Smith responded to a report of threatening in Warren. The incident is under investigation.

    July 12

    Following a reported domestic assault in Union, Sgt. John Palmer arrested Tyler Vangel, 22, of Lincolnville, for domestic violence assault, domestic violence threatening, reckless conduct, operating motor vehicle while license suspended, and violating conditions of release.

    Following a report of a vehicle off the roadway in Warren, Deputy Nathaniel Jack summoned Tyler Dustin, 21, of Warren, for failing to produce evidence of insurance.

    Deputy Jeremy Joslyn conducted a traffic detail throughout the county and cited:

    Denise Surek, 51, of Appleton, summoned for speeding in Union;

    Philip Harrington, 53, of Woolwich, summoned for speeding in Appleton;

    Jacquelyn Rhoades, 49, of Appleton, summoned for speeding in Appleton;

    Benjamin Phippen, 24, of Brewer, summoned for speeding in Union; and,

    Robert Lacasse, 18, of Nobleboro, summoned for failing to display valid inspection certificate in Union.

    July 13

    Potter responded to a report of property damage on Vinalhaven. The incident is under investigation.

    Sgt. Matthew Elwell conducted a traffic detail throughout the county and cited the following: 

    Peter Bulkeley, 64, of Friendship, summoned for speeding in Friendship;

    Donna Jameson, 48, of Friendship, summoned for failing to display valid inspection certificate in Friendship;

    Zachariah Sawyer, 22, of Waldoboro, summoned for failing to display valid inspection certificate in Friendship;

     Kayla Morris, 20, of Friendship, summoned for failing to display valid inspection certificate in Friendship;

    W. Scott Armstrong, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., summoned for speeding in Friendship; 

    Seth Tolman, 35, of Jefferson, summoned for speeding and operator not secured in seatbelt in Friendship; and,

    David Tolman, 37, of Friendship, summoned for speeding in Friendship.

    Following a report of a protection order violation in Rockland, Palmer arrested Steven Look, 49, of Rockland, for violating a protection from abuse order.

    Following a medical assistance call in Washington, Jack arrested Damir Augusta, 19, of Waldoboro, for unlawfully furnishing scheduled drugs and for violating conditions of release.

    Following a traffic crash on Vinalhaven, Potter summoned Dustin Smith, 27, of Vinalhaven, for failing to register a motor vehicle by more than 150 days.

    July 14

    Following a traffic stop in St. George, Deputy Pinkham summoned Michael Mastronardi, 31, of Portland, for failing to display valid inspection certificate.

    Lt. Reginald Walker responded to a report of theft of services in Warren. The incident is under investigation.

    Joslyn conducted a traffic detail throughout the county and cited the following: 

    Mary Peabody, 80, of Washington, summoned for speeding in Union;

    Gaetane Dodge, 36, of Rockland, summoned for failing to display valid inspection certificate in Rockland;

    Timothy Harkins, 48, of Arrowsic, summoned for failing to display valid inspection certificate in Owls Head;

    Mary Schell, 59, of Interlachen, Fla., summoned for speeding in Owls Head;

    Stephen Lindsay, 63, of St. George, summoned for failing to display valid inspection certificate in Rockland; and,

    Stephen Fiske, 53, of Rockland, summoned for speeding in Owls Head.

    Following a traffic stop in Warren, Jack summoned Antonio Defino, 22, of Augusta, for speeding.

    Following a wanted person check in Rockland, Deputy Paul Spear arrested Gabriel Payor, 22, of South Thomaston, on a violation of probation.

    Sgt. Elwell responded to a report of theft in Appleton. The incident is under investigation.

    July 15

    Following a traffic stop in St. George, Pinkham summoned Alexander McCall, 22, of Philadelphia, Pa., for speeding.

    Following a traffic stop on North Haven, Deputy Justin Hills summoned a juvenile for operating motor vehicle while license suspended.

    Following a traffic stop in Friendship, Spear summoned Donna Cox, 39, of Waldoboro, for failing to display valid inspection certificate.

    Polky conducted an impaired driving detail throughout the county citing the following: Miranda Parsons, 23, of Lincolnville, summoned for speeding and failing to provide evidence of insurance in Union, Hanlon Kelley, 29, of Northport, summoned for speeding in Union.

    Following a wanted person check in Rockland, Joslyn arrested Tasha Campbell, 25, of Waldoboro, on an active arrest warrant.

    Following a wanted person check in Rockland, Joslyn arrested James Jamison, 33, of Waterbury, Conn., on two active arrest warrants.

    Following a traffic stop in Washington, Joslyn summoned Raymond Chang, 30, of Waterville, for operating motor vehicle while license suspended.

    July 16

    Following a wanted person check in Rockland, Joslyn arrested Thomas Long, 36, of Milo, on an active arrest warrant.

    Following a wanted person check in Rockland, Joslyn arrested Peter Solari, 33, of Cushing, on an active arrest warrant.

    Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Joslyn summoned Alexander Libby, 21, of Thomaston, for failing to display valid inspection certificate.

    Polky conducted an impaired driving detail throughout the county reported that Lynn Fuschino, 64, of Searsmont, was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol in Union.

    Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Spear summoned Jane Young, 26, of Cushing, for operating motor vehicle while license suspended.
