Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Domestic violence assaults, outstanding arrest warrants

    The Knox County Sheriff’s office received 217 calls for service from Feb.15-21.Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hang-ups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings. 

    Feb.15 

    Deputy Paul Spear arrested Jane Young, 24, of Cushing, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident. 

    Spear and Deputy Jeremy Joslyn responded to assist Sgt. Hoppe,Thomaston Police Department, at the scene of a domestic violence assault. Following this response, Joslyn arrested Nathaniel Hussey, 33, of Thomaston, on four outstanding arrest warrants. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident. This is a Thomaston Police Department case. 

    Feb.16 

    Deputy Nathaniel Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle. Non-reportable damage sustained. 

    Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving two vehicles. Non-reportable damage sustained. 

    Deputy Matt Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Deputy Paul Pinkham and Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to a report of a domestic violence assault in Owls Head. Following this response, the female subject involved was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center for threatening to harm herself. 

    Feb.17 

    Deputy Pat Polky conducted a radar detail in Union, Hope and Appleton. No violations were noted. 

    Polky arrested Justin Lawrence, 39, of Benton, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident. 

    Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a turkey. Non-reportable damage sustained. 

    Elwell began an investigation of theft in Warren. This is still an active investigation with one suspect named. 

    Feb.18 

    Sgt. John Palmer responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in the town of Washington involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Feb.19 

    Joslyn responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Warren. The vehicle and operator were located and it was found that the operator was having some sort of medical issue. Warren Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the subject to Pen Bay Medical Center. 

    Feb. 20 

    Joslyn responded to a report of an assault in Union. This case has been referred to the District Attorney’s Office for review. 

    Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Washington involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Deputy Smith arrested Mark White, 42, of Appleton, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident. 

    Joslyn responded to a report of a domestic in Warren. Following this response, Lisa Glaude, 48, of Waldoboro, was arrested for a domestic violence assault. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident. 

    Feb. 21 

    Deputy Pinkham began an investigation of harassment and trespass in St. George. All parties involved were issued warnings for same. 

    Palmer responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Following a traffic stop in Union, Smith arrested Nicholas Carpenter, 28, of Union, on a charge of operating after suspension. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
