Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Domestic violence, accidents, outstanding warrant arrests

    ROCKLAND — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Oct. 12-18, 2014. A summons does not imply guilt.

    Oct. 12

    Deputy Lance Mitchell responded to a report of a disorderly male in South Thomaston. The male was removed from the property and issued warnings for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

    Deputy Arthur Smith conducted a radar detail in Appleton. No violations were noted.

    Deputy Paul Pinkham began an investigation of harassment in St. George. The female suspect was located by Camden Police Officer Brook Hartshorn and issued a warning for same.

    Deputy John Hansen conducted a radar detail in Warren. No violations were noted.

    Deputy Hansen began an investigation of threatening in Washington. The female suspect was located and issued a warning for same.

    Oct. 13

    Deputy Paul Spear conducted a radar detail in Appleton. No violations were noted.

    Deputy James Moore arrested Ashlee Guptill, 28, of South Thomaston, on an outstanding warrant. Guptill was transported to Knox County jail without incident.

    Deputy Spear arrested Evan Ulmer, 27, of Union, on an outstanding warrant. Ulmer was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Deputy Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. The amount of damage was non-reportable.

    Deputy Justin Hills responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer. The amount of damage was non-reportable.

    Deputy Spear arrested Clifford Clark, 40, of Washington, on two outstanding warrants. Clark was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Deputy Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in the town of Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.

    Oct. 14

    Deputies Matt Elwell, Hills and Mitchell responded to a report of a domestic in St. George. Subsequent to this response, Larry Winchenbach, 32, of St. George, was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault, obstructing report of a crime and violating conditions of release. Winchenbach was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Deputy Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving a single vehicle striking a deer. The amount of damage was non-reportable.

    Deputy Robert Potter conducted a radar detail in Vinalhaven. No violations were noted.

    Deputy Elwell arrested Maurice Young, 47, of Cushing, on an outstanding warrant. Young was escorted to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Oct. 15

    Deputy Pat Polky conducted a radar detail in North Haven. No violations were noted.

    Deputy Moore conducted a radar detail in Cushing. No violations were noted.

    Deputy Potter arrested Owen Adair, 23, of Vinalhaven, on an outstanding warrant.

    Deputy Nathaniel Jack began an investigation of theft in Warren. There are no suspects or leads at this time.

    Deputy Jeremy Joslyn arrested Jamel James, 35, of South Thomaston, on an outstanding warrant. James was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Subsequent to a traffic stop in Warren, Deputy Jack issued a summons for operating after suspension.

    Deputy Potter responded to a report of a disorderly male in Vinalhaven. Subsequent to this response, Aaron Robinson, 34, of Vinalhaven, was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, refusing to submit to arrest, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. Robinson was transported to Knox County Jail via Marine Patrol without further incident.

    Oct. 16

    Subsequent to a traffic stop in Warren, Deputy Moore issued a summons for operating with an expired license.

    Deputy Moore arrested Randall Willis, 47, of Rockland, on a charge of violating conditions of release. Willis was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Deputy Moore conducted a radar detail in Rockland. No violations were noted.

    Lt. Kirk Guerrette and Lt. Reggie Walker responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Reportable damage was sustained.

    Deputy Jack arrested Misty Ireland, 30, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Ireland was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Deputy Joslyn arrested Justin Ireland, 33, of Warren, on charges of hindering apprehension and violating conditions of release. Ireland was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Oct. 17

    Deputy Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving two vehicles. Reportable damage was sustained.

    Deputy Pinkham began an investigation of harassment in Washington. The female suspect was located and issued a warning for same.

    Deputy Moore began an investigation of harassment in Warren. The female suspect was located and issued a warning for same.

    Deputies Jack, Joslyn and Sgt. John Palmer responded to conduct a bail check in St. George. Subsequent to this response, Christine Hunt, 36, of Cushing, Felichia Glidden, 21, of Washington, and Jamie Luce, 31, of Waldoboro, were all arrested on charges of violating conditions of release. Hunt, Glidden and Luce were transported to Knox County Jail without incident.

    Subsequent to a traffic stop in Rockport, Deputy Joslyn issued a summons for speed.

    Deputy Potter began an investigation of theft in Vinalhaven. This is still an active investigation.

    Deputies Smith, Jack and Sgt. Palmer responded to a report of an underage drinking party in Warren. Multiple subjects were issued summonses for possession of liquor by a minor by consumption.

    Oct. 18

    Deputy Joslyn conducted a radar detail in Friendship. No violations were noted.

    Deputy Mitchell began an investigation of harassment in Warren. All parties involved were issued warnings for same.

    Deputy Smith conducted a radar detail in Owls Head. No violations were noted.

    In total during this one-week period, the Knox County Sheriff's Office received 235 calls for service. Those calls that are not listed above are such calls as ATV problems, alarms, 911 hang-ups, along with nuisance, erratic vehicle and suspicious complaints.
