Kathleen Meil: ‘I hope to earn your vote on Nov. 8’

Friends and neighbors: Election day is almost here — finally!

Running a campaign to represent Camden, Rockport, and Islesboro in the State Legislature is an honor. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to talk policy and priorities with me. From playgrounds to public meetings to quiet conversations at thousands of doors, you’ve shared your ideas and your questions, and you’ve informed me about the issues that matter most to you. I’m incredibly grateful for your generosity of spirit and your support of my candidacy.

What I’ve heard, time and time again, is that we must set a course for Maine’s future that matches our outstanding quality of life with outstanding economic and educational opportunity.

  • Supporting Maine families is essential, and high-quality education and childcare, living wages with flexible leave, and affordable health care are top priorities.
  • Energy policy is crucial, and my work in energy efficiency has shown me how environmental challenges can bring economic opportunity.
  • Bold leadership and bipartisan collaboration is key, and as your next state representative, I’ll focus on policy, not politics.

My professional experience in energy efficiency and education has primed me to lead on some of our community’s most important priorities, and my strong relationships with community experts and lawmakers have prepared me to do the hard, collaborative work of governing.

I’m honored to have the support of so many people throughout our community — people of all ages, political affiliations, and walks of life — along with organizations that represent Maine’s small businesses, teachers, health care advocates, retirees, workers, and environment. You can read dozens of letters of support here and see the 10 endorsements I’ve received here, and you can contact me any time with your questions or concerns.

I hope to earn your vote on November 8, and look forward to serving this district with the dedication and dignity demonstrated by our outgoing representative, Joan Welsh.

Kathleen Meil is a candidate for House District 94 (Camden, Rockport, Islesboro) and lives in Rockport.
