BROOKS — Kathleen Denise Schiessl, 46, of Brooks, passed away on Sept. 27, 2016, in the presence of her husband and daughters at home after a courageous six-year battle with breast cancer.

Kathleen was born May 5, 1970, in New Haven, Conn.

She was employed as a government contractor working for the Maine Army National Guard in various positions for 10 years.

Kathleen's life passion was her three daughters and her husband. She loved traveling, cooking, photography but most of all spending time with her children, whom she was so very proud of. She was a woman full of life, love, compassion and grace, known for her positive, witty attitude. She was also known for putting others’ feelings before her own.

Her famous phrase in the battle for her life was, "It's all good," trying to put others at ease in her struggles. She was truly her husband's hero and an inspiration to many.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Christopher Schiessl of Brooks; three daughters, Alyssa Schiessl of Brooks, Amanda Schiessl of Jefferson Ind., and Alexandra Schiessl of Waldo; and her son, Timothy Champa.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast, where a funeral will follow on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Maine Veterans Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta.
