ROCKPORT – Jacqueline H. Smalley, 78, died April 20, 2015, at Winship Green in Bath after a long illness.

Born in Rockland on Jan. 27, 1937, she was the daughter of Leroy F. and Gladys F. Jones Thompson. Educated in local schools she was a 1955 graduate of Rockland High School.

On Dec. 31, 1955, Jackie married Adelbert D. Smalley in Rockland. They made their home in Rockland all their married lives where they raised their family.

At the same time they were raising their family, Jackie and Del owned and operated the Jack & Jill Laundry, located on South Main Street, until Adelbert's passing in 1991.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Jackie was predeceased by one daughter, Roxanne Lee Smalley. She is survived by her children, Wayne Smalley and his wife, Jennifer, of Nevada, Darlene Glover and her husband, Thomas, of New York, Paul Smalley of Utah, Mark Smalley and his wife, Ying, of Nevada, and Brian Smalley and his wife, JeanAnn, of Thomaston; one brother, Kevin R. Thompson of Owls Head; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 11 at 10 a.m. at North Parish Cemetery at Wiley's Corner in St. George. The Rev. Wayne Sawyer will officiate.
